Who we are
Oduree B.V., Frijdastraat 6C, Rijswijk, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce no. 86784862), is responsible for this app. Questions: it@oduree.nl.
In short
The Oduree Diffuser app does not collect personal data. The app talks to your diffuser over Bluetooth and to nothing else. There is no account, no server of ours that the app connects to, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. The app contains no third-party software that collects data. Nothing leaves your phone through the app.
What the app keeps on your phone
- The diffusers you have connected: the name, the type of device, the Bluetooth identifier of the device, the time of the last connection and, for some models, a technical key needed to read the device.
- The password of your diffuser (four digits), in your phone’s secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android).
- Your choice of light or dark appearance and of backdrop.
- On iPhone, for the widget: the last known state of your diffuser, namely its name, on or off, the scent strength, the oil level and the moment the app saw it. The app places this in storage on your iPhone that the app and the widget share. This also stays on your phone.
This information is stored on your phone only. We cannot access it.
Deleting
In the app, tap “Vergeten” (Forget) next to a diffuser. The diffuser disappears from the list and its password is erased. Deleting the app removes everything the app keeps. One exception: on an iPhone the password of your diffuser can remain in the Keychain. If you want that erased as well, tap “Vergeten” first and delete the app afterwards.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or your computer, this information may be included in that backup. That backup is governed by your agreement with Apple. On Android the app takes no part in Google backup or in the transfer to a new device: everything stays on your phone, and on a new phone you connect your diffuser once more.
Permissions
- Bluetooth (iOS) or Nearby devices (Android 12 and later): to find and control your diffuser.
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only): Android requires this permission for every Bluetooth search. The app does not request, store or use your location.
The app asks for no other permissions.
The example
With “Bekijk een voorbeeld” (view an example) you walk through the app with an example diffuser that is built into the app. Nothing is connected, nothing is saved and nothing is sent.
If you email us
If you email us a question, we use your email address and your message only to answer you. This happens outside the app.
Children
The app is not aimed at children and collects data from no one.
Your rights
Because we process no personal data through the app, we hold nothing to access, correct or delete. If you still have a question about your privacy, mail it@oduree.nl. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If the app changes, for example if a Wi-Fi connection is added later, we will update this statement beforehand. The date at the top shows which version applies.
